There’s no secret behind Rolê Gloob: it’s all about getting the gang together to play games. More than a competition, however, the goal here for both audience and participants is to share some laughter and celebrate the wonders of childhood.
My job in it was to design all the challenges faced by the participants (12 unique games per season), as well as the overarching gamification of the show. On many occasions, these challenges also had to come with a narrative veneer exploring the theme of the episode, and always needed to bear in mind the aesthetics and values of Gloob channel, appreciated by parents for its content suitable for all ages.
It also fell upon me to oversee the construction of the sets and props, as well as to teach the participants the rules of each game and to monitor the outcome of the matches.
